Dog Exercise Park, Enniskillen
Fermanagh and Omagh District Council has opened a dog parks in Enniskillen, where dogs can be exercised in a safe and friendly environment. The fully enclosed dog parks provide a safe and secure space for dog owners to exercise their pets off lead.
The parks are open all day, every day.
Castle Coole Lake Walk
The National Trust gem of Castle Coole offers the perfect place to take your dog for a nice brisk walk and explore Ireland’s only island town of nearby Enniskillen, and Lough Erne.
There are two trails available are the Beech Trail and Lake Walk Trail, which are both dog friendly walks for you and your furry friend to enjoy.
The Lake Walk forms part of the original historic track around the lake, which was created by the 1st Earl of Belmore in the late 18th century. It provides a number of beautiful vistas across the lake - keep an eye out for the resident swans! This part of the estate is a protected conservation site, so please keep dogs on leads where signage suggests.
Castle Archdale Forest
Castle Archdale Forest is a 520-hectare mixed broadleaved and coniferous lowland forest and it is one of the finest spots to appreciate the stunning beauty of Lower Lough Erne. The forest is a richly varied one in terms of views and features and includes ruined Castles, WWII docks and buildings, ancient woodland, millennium forest and views over Lower Lough Erne to White Island, Davy’s Island and further afield.
Ely Lodge Forest
Ely Lodge Forest is part of the Marble Arch Caves Global Geopark. Ely Lodge Forest is a 250 hectare forest that sweeps up from the shores of Lower Lough Erne, one of the largest freshwater lakes in Ireland.
Belmore Forest
Belmore Forest is the perfect location for a quiet dog walk with views of stunning landscapes. The area has several paths to explore with including the Pollnagollum Cave Walk. A viewing platform offers an insight into the entrance of the caves, with Pollnagollum cave having been used during the filming of Game of Thrones.
This particular route begins at the cave, is around 7 kilometres long and is all on forest track. Most of the walks within the forest reward you with stunning views over the surrounding areas after gentle climbs uphill.
